From Colombian megacity Bogotá hails Daniel Orrantia, whose improv style is marked by his unique physicality and the strong use of clowning elements. Together with his group PICNIC, Daniel organises the annual MonkeyFest festival, and has been performing at other improv festivals for years. With the production of „Speechless“, he and his fellow player Felipe Ortiz and Canadian DJ Mama Cutsworth created a magical work of speechless improvisation, which is one of its kind in the world. One of his passions is the co-operation with artists and performers from other fields of art – it is also a source of inspiration for his refreshingly different way of improvising, which, and we’re sure of it, will vastly enrich our festival ensemble, too.
